SCIENTIFIC PROFILE AND SPECIALITY
The Laboratory of Molecular Diagnostics of NCSR Demokritos has been active since 1998 mainly in the area of cancer genetics and in particular in the analysis of hereditary forms and syndromes predisposing to different forms of cancer. The main areas of interest are hereditary breast-ovarian cancer, familial adenomatous polyposis, hereditary non polyposis colorectal cancer (Lynch Syndrome), MutYH gene-associated polyposis, hereditary gastric cancer of the diffuse type, Li-Fraumeni syndrome and others.
Scientific fields: Molecular genetic analysis in hereditary breast, ovarian, colorectal carcinoma, etc.
